“A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels.” – Proverbs 1:5 (KJV).
This verse in Proverbs has been one of my favorite verses since I became a Christian. Totoo na ang Word of God is our guide and we cannot underestimate the importance of devoting precious time every day to read His Word. We need guidance and wisdom in all aspects of our life. Every day we have decisions to make. As soon as we start a day, we already have decisions about our day based on what was planned the previous day. That is why we need to start the day by devoting the first hour with our God to read His Word and pray for His guidance.
The truth is may mga pagkakataon na hindi ko nagagawang manalangin at magbasa ng Salita ng ating Panginoon. Mas nabibigyan ko ng importance ang mga bagay patungkol sa sarili tulad ng trabaho, pahinga, at pakikisalamuha sa mga kaibigan. Dumating na rin yung panahon na hindi ko na namalayan na unti-unti naubos ang oras ko sa mga bagay na inakala kong tama. I noticed myself losing the enthusiasm to go to work. I have lost the joy of starting the day right. I realized na napakalayo ko na sa Diyos. Iyon na ang masasabi kong pinaka-malungkot na phase ng buhay ko.
Praise God, our God is the God of second chances. He gave me Christian friends who have been my prayer partners, and the Holy Spirit na patuloy na nagbibigay gabay at karunungan sa pamamagitan ng Banal na Salita ng Diyos. Indeed, we need wise counsels from God upang tayo ay maging matagumpay na Kristiyano.
