“Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” – John 14:6
During the Holy Week, my wife and I watched the “Passion of Christ”. This is the only movie that depicts the brutality of the cross, and like Peter in the movie, my emotion ran high, and I thought, “If only we can do something?”
Jesus has the power to perform many miracles, such as: multiplying the loaves of bread, walking on water, teleporting and disappearing, and even raising the dead. If Jesus would use these to His advantage, with a snap of a finger, those who mock and punish Him will perish, but that’s not what He came to this world to do. Jesus loves the centurions too, and He put back the ear of one of the soldiers.
There was young boy, upon seeing a religious page, where Jesus hang on the cross, he asked his father if they can save Him. Little did he know that it was Jesus, who would save us all from eternal condemnation.
Like the boy, I too want to remove His nails; but, to our sins “Jesus nailed it”.
