“When I am afraid, I put my trust in You.” – Psalm 56:3 NIV
Fearing something, like our future, health, work, relationships, and families may hinder our walk with the Lord. It loses our focus on Him and makes us concentrate on this kind of feeling or thinking. Consequently, it will make us more anxious and sometimes lead to hopelessness and desperation.
This verse reminds me that in my walk with Jesus, I still feel fear or afraid. I should not linger on this feeling but always get back on Jesus’ faithfulness and promises. When feeling anxious, I should talk to Him, read the Bible, and pray. He is always with me and rebukes me for not falling to the enemy who created this fear. God is my strength and encouragement. His Word gives me life to continue and wipe away my anxiety. He knows my future and I should put my trust in Him.
