When God is silent

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.“ (Philippians 4:6-7)

This passage was useful to me for two weeks of seeking God’s guidance and mercy. I’ve been in the midst of trial the moment I learned that I’m about to lose my job. I received a warning email because of what I did two weeks ago (a finance issue). I had weeks of sleepless night worrying about my situation as I was so scared to lose my job. I cannot even mention to my husband what had happened in the office and I did not know who to turn to and talk to. As I kept on praying and asking for God’s help and guidance, I approached my siblings to pray for me. I was honest to them and told them what I have done at work. My elder sister Maryfe advised me to be more careful and focused on my job. I have been grumbling about my contract and was not getting my ticket allowance for three years. My job performance was affected because of this.

Thursday, Sept. 16, 2021, we had a meeting with our director. I was so scared that it would be my last day of work, but God is faithful and loving. He turned out things in His own way. A blessing from above. God touched the heart of our director. He finally gave us a financial reward as an appreciation for our dedication and hard work during the pandemic.

Reflection: God is working silently in our behalf. He never leaves us nor forsakes us. Sometimes we give up on something na akala natin God did not listen to us. Always remember this passage, “All things will work together for good for those who love God and for those who called according to His purpose”. Trust in God and His plan. Submit our day to day work to him and He will guide us wherever we go.
