“I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits, and in His word, I put my hope.” – Psalms 130:5
I, for one, hate the idea of waiting. Either in the long queue in the grocery store, during bank appointments, or even waiting on the progress of my applications. Who does not want immediate action regarding our requests? I wanted all to be “instant,” at the snap of my fingers, at my own pace, in my timeline, and according to my wish.
In addition, most of the time, my prayers often reflect impatience. I would say, “Hurry up, God!” Then I realized that a person who prays must learn to wait on God. Waiting on God’s answers means praying without ceasing, we need to intensify our plea, we ought to be active. It’s also a time to examine ourselves inwardly- the status of our hearts, our motives, and confessing our sins that must be barring blessings from God. We need to align our thoughts to God’s word and wait for His revelation and some indications of God’s answer. Keep that faith, keep
trusting and hoping. God is just as able to close doors and pathways as He is to open them.
Prayer: Lord, fill our hearts with joy in waiting, strengthen us by Your word. Help us remain faithful and patient as we wait for Your answer to our prayers. Always remind us not to take matters into our own hands. We choose to trust You. We thank You that You have all the wisdom and will answer our prayers in Your perfect way. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen!
