“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” – 1 John 1:9
Perhaps some of us here are filled with heavy baggage. Maybe some of us here are filled with bitterness, unforgiveness, shame, and mistakes. Let’s imagine throwing them all away now and replacing all of them with Jesus’ love, peace, acceptance & salvation.
When we come to Jesus as we are (with baggage and all), He tells us that He is faithful to cleanse us from our sins. And He doesn’t just clean us up. He also makes us new.
Because of who He is and what He’s done for us, we are clean, we are accepted, and we are invited to the family of God. We just have to accept His invitation. And when we do, we can trust that HE will continue to mold us into the person He wants us to become. To become more like Jesus.
So, as we seek to deep-clean our souls from the things that are not pleasing to Him and from the things that hold us back, always remember that Jesus Himself is the only way to True and Lasting Freedom.
