“Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will never pass away.” (Matthew 24:35 NIV)
Last night, during the Women’s Fellowship, I was so amazed at Pastora Mayette’s life testimony. I know that those who had attended had the same reaction too. Today, this verse reminded me again that everything in our lives is temporary. May it be our possessions, goals, careers, and even our friends.
As we journey this life, we can learn and unlearn things. We can see how things have changed throughout as we look back, and sometimes we hope we could have done better. But as we grow in God, we start to understand things we misunderstood. Nevertheless, God has been faithful in our every step.
Working in Riyadh, then going back to the Philippines, and then working in Oman, I lost and gained many things. But one thing I am always with is God’s word and promises. Kahit saan ako mapunta, God is there. That has always been my prayer, and God answered that prayer. May it be in a different country or working in another hospital, God always remained faithful even in times when I am faithless and doubtful. Just as Pastora Mayette stated, “Our profession is just a ticket to our destination where God is putting us for a mission.” We must bloom where we are planted.
Oh Lord, I pray that I will constantly be reminded that Your words will remain true however things are going on. Your faithfulness never changes. Keep me hold on to the things that never pass. In the mighty Name of Jesus, I pray, Amen.
