“The Lord is my light and my salvation – whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life – of whom shall I be afraid?” – Psalm 27:1
This chapter in the book of Psalm has shown how David penned it during the distressing times of his life, and it is also in this chapter that he reaffirms his faith in God.
Being the figurehead of our family, I thank God for He is my light, and He has been guiding me throughout. I grew up without my parents beside me and I praise God that I have known Him as my loving Father before I got married. Having trusted Him since the time I received the gift of salvation, I have seen first-hand for the past years the faithfulness of God towards our family and how He has molded me into who I am now. He has strengthened me throughout our journey. Ever since I have personally surrendered everything to Him and just put my faith in Him, I have experienced peace every day as the God that I serve is truly sovereign. I believe that nothing can happen apart from His perfect good plan, so I don’t fear what the future may hold as I know that the Lord is the stronghold of my life. The Bible says that if we live in Christ and according to His purpose, we should not fear.
