Words have enormous power. They can speak life, or they can hurt and even destroy. That is why it is important to think and choose our words carefully. Let us use our words to encourage, motivate and build up each other, not to hurt and tear apart. Think twice before we speak because our words and influence will plant the seed of either a life-giving inspiration or a painful wound in others’ minds. Let us make sure that the words that will come out of our mouths will edify others and glorify God. Be mindful that our words reflect the love and grace Jesus offers us in abundance.

Dear Lord, thank You for Your Word, the Bible, that gives me guidance and inspiration. May my words be used only to uplift others and glorify Your name. Help me guard what I say. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
