“In the multitude of my anxieties within me, Your comforts delight my soul.” – Psalms 94:19 NKJV
Last night during my duty, while preparing the medicines, my team leader and a senior colleague suddenly grumbled to me about some discussions that happened between her and the Nursing supervisor. She told me about her disappointments and frustration with the injustices in our workplace. She said that if she had a choice, she would not stay for a long time knowing that they are not valuing their staff. At first, I don’t know what to say to uplift her and be an encourager because what she said was true. Even I felt the same sometimes, especially when everything seems unfair in life. But words just came out of my mouth and answered her that God sees everything so let us be thankful that we are healthy and have work because we cannot do anything about it.
Sometimes even we Christians are not exempted from feeling anxious, fearful, and disappointed in life but praise God that through His grace and Words, like in this verse, we are reminded that the comfort coming from the Lord brings us joy if we lift to Him all our cares and burdens. This enables us to see His goodness in everything.
Father God, thank You for Your presence in my life, for the comfort You bring when I am under siege, for the strength you offer when I’m weak, and the hope you instill when everything seems hopeless. Helps us not to be a worrier and a complainer but instead be an encourager to others. For others who have not known you yet, open their eyes and hearts for them to see that You are our great comforter, and whoever will know You and have a personal relationship with You will have great joy and peace in their life. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
