“Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is–His good, pleasing and perfect will.” – Romans 12:2
Most of us measure success by our achievements, accomplishments, or talents. It can often be shown by how much money we have, the fame or power we obtained. This is man’s definition of success. But God defines success on how we fulfill His will and the purpose of our lives. In His definition of success, only Jesus fulfilled this in His life on earth. The only man who fulfilled God’s will by putting God the Father first and never losing sight of why He was sent to live on earth.
We face a lot of distractions in every aspect of our lives – in our family, our workplace, with our friends, etc. Although not all distractions are bad, if we are not careful, we may tend to lose sight and focus on God’s purpose for our lives.
Instead of being busy getting things done and trying to be successful with all those distractions our way, we should seek and spend time with God as Jesus did to remain focused on His mission. We have to move on. We can only be successful in our mission by being consistently connected to God and His calling.
I am praying for every one of us to seek God in fulfilling our purpose and not to focus on the temporary success this life on earth will give us but on the ETERNAL SUCCESS. We look forward to and be living the rest of our life in heaven.
