“Keep and protect me, O God, for in You I have placed my trust and found refuge. I said to the Lord, “You are my Lord; I have no good besides You.” – Psalms 16:1-2 AMP
To begin with, my thoughts brought me to yesterday, aspiring to build a refuge in which my family and I could live comfortably. It started as a dream and became a reality. Who does not want comfortable life? Probably, we all do. But somehow, I still feel the need to search and explore the beauty of life.
I have great plans for my future. Working hard to achieve those goals makes me exhausted physically and mentally. Having a roof on my head, a balanced diet, and proper exercise sustain my physical health. However, I also know that self-determination is not enough without our Lord God. Indeed, I am no good without Him in my life.
Moreover, I count that God will guide every decision I make every day. The Scripture says, “Many are the plan in man’s heart, but only God’s plan shall prevail.” These words are engraved in my thoughts and make me feel secure.
Bountiful blessings often come my way, probably because I have learned to let go of my expectations. I have learned to let God be the captain and ruler of my life. He is my fortress and refuge. No one can harm me in His arms. This brings me to the realization of those who are homeless or perhaps those who live quietly in their homes then suddenly enemies come and destroy them like what is happening between Russia and Ukraine. I hope and pray that this will end soon.
Prayer: Dear Lord God, I surrender all my intentions and wishes in life to you. I am seeking your refuge and protection every day, especially for those who are oppressed and crushed by the enemy. I am your humble servant asking for blessings for everyone. Jesus’ mighty name, Amen
