“As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.” – Proverbs 27:17 NIV
The first time I truly, deeply appreciated this Bible verse was during one of the Men of Jesus (MOJ) fellowships years ago. Looking back, it impacted my life simply because it implies the importance of having someone, preferably mature Christians to guide me, to work with me, and honestly to “revive” me.
Realistically speaking, that’s the main purpose of this message – you and I must work together to accomplish the desired intention because if I’m left alone, I will be fruitless. Ultimately, we need to rely on God’s wisdom and divine intervention through prayers and having a solid quiet time with the Lord. Moreover, constant and deep connection with other believers is the major key in helping us grow into a Christ-like, spirit-filled community.
Father God, thank You for this message and thank you for this group – for allowing us to strengthen one another, encourage, and see the importance of intentional and respectful relationships. Indeed, we all need each other to help us rub off those hard edges in life, the same way we religiously seek You, Father God, for us to have an effective and fruitful spiritual growth. In Jesus’ Name, we pray. Amen.
