“And David was greatly distressed, for the people spoke of stoning him, because all the people were bitter in soul, each for his sons and daughters. But David strengthened himself in the LORD his God.” (1 Samuel 30:6 ESV)
Oftentimes when we face trials and problems, we try to find someone or something to comfort us. We wanted someone to listen as we vent out our frustrations and complaints. But these verses reminded me to always turn to God and rely on the comfort and strength He will provide. It is when I align myself to God’s word that I am able to stay calm and decide wisely. As David relied on God, may we also do the same.
