“Don’t worry about anything instead pray about everything. Tell God what you need and thank Him for all He has done.” – Philippians 4:6. NLT
When I got the message that I was chosen to be one of the Seven Last Words preachers, I was startled, challenged, and humbled kasi it will be my first time to deliver God’s message in the church service on a Good Friday. Though they gave us a patterned sermon, I somehow felt the need to modify and adapt the content based on the applicability to the church. For weeks, I tried very hard to collect ideas, gather the right words, and put them into writing but I always end up just staring at my laptop. No inputs at all. I prayed hard. Asked for wisdom, guidance, and clarity. The Lord spoke to me through this very meaningful verse from Philippians 4:6. God clearly states that He doesn’t want us to worry but instead rely on Him, speak to Him, and let Him know our requests. Worry will certainly not help us. Surrender everything to Him and trust His steadfast and loving character.
It was last minute that I was able to complete and submit the sermon, two days before Friday! Whew! Praise God for what He has done to me! Praise God for all the positive and encouraging comments that I received especially from our church leaders. To God be all the glory and honor!
Father God, help us to put away all our worries and all our doubts. Teach us to rely on You, to put our trust in You, and most importantly, to thank You for all the things You have done for us. We pray that You will continuously use us mightily in delivering and sharing Your divine Words with others. Constantly align us according to Your purpose and glory. In Jesus’ precious name. Amen.
