“In the morning, O Lord, You hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before You & wait in expectation.” (Psalm 5:3)
COMMUNICATION is vital for any relationship to thrive. Studies show that as early as a child’s fetal development, parents may build a connection to their baby through verbal communication. So how much more to the most important relationship that we can have – our relationship with our Heavenly Father?
Seeking God’s presence first hour in the morning reflects a heart of humility for it acknowledges our inadequacy and dependence to the Giver of Life. Each time we wake up breathing is enough reason to go down on our knees to praise and worship God. We offer our ACTS (Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving & Supplication) to the Lord and wait expectantly for His answer to our pleas not based on our own personal agendas but according to His perfect time and will for us.
It is on those solitary moments that we speak to God as we pray and God speaks to us as we read and meditate on His Word. Truly, the most important conversation of the day starts in prayer and devotion. May we begin our mornings with our quiet time with the Lord.
