“My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry,” (James 1:19 NIV)
This verse reminded me of how sometimes we are quick to react to things around us, may it be on social media, in our workplace, and even at our home. James wants us to be an active listener rather than being carried away by our emotions. We should humble ourselves and seek understanding before giving any response. We should take a deep breath muna at nang makapag isip kung ano ang dapat na isagot. Kahit gusto natin magreason out at ibigay ang ating point, it is much better to maintain our composure with respect and dignity. At the end of the day we are at peace, wala tayong magiging kaaway or masasaktan sa magiging response natin. As believers, hindi tayo dapat magpapadala sa nakapaligid sa atin, but we should be transformed by the Holy Spirit to do what is right and good.
