Promissory Note

“But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.” – 2 Corinthians 12:9

Let me share a bit of my story. Two weeks ago, a brother in Christ preached about “FOCUS.” He shared that he too was worried about his status. His “No Objection Certificate” (NOC) was still not granted to him until now. It’s not clear to me why. Then he said, “God’s way is not our way.” Why would he worry if there’s nothing to be worried about? It has been three years now, but the right people are processing his needs. He added to just stay on the right way and entrust ourselves to God.

I remember that in the past during my exams, I usually kept a letter in my shirt’s pocket every time we were faced with financial challenges. I would pull out the “Promissory Note” just to be allowed to take the exams.

Every time I think of this, I can’t believe that we surpassed those times. It is only by the grace of the Lord. I don’t know how to face those examiners every time I walked in the door; the pressure was immense after showing the letter. We don’t know if we would still be able to pay next time so that I can continue my studies. But my parents always trusted the Lord.

Like Apostle Peter, during the encounter on the Sea of Galilee, I too am clouded by doubts. But if we keep our eyes on Jesus, we will not drown. As we live our lives on a day-to-day basis, His provisions are surely enough to meet our needs –just stay “FOCUSED.”
