“You also must be patient. Strengthen your hearts.” – James 5:8
Patience is not easy to learn, yet we must learn it. This reminded me of the parable of the unjust judge and persistent woman. A judge who lacks compassion and is persistently and patiently approached by a woman seeking justice and so I was reminded of my mother’s situation.
This verse reminded me to wait patiently for God’s perfect timing. Being in such a situation, we often feel and think that we are suffering, and sometimes wonder why God hasn’t answered our prayers yet. But the thing is, God is telling us that we only have to be patient and to keep trusting Him. There is a purpose and perfect timing for everything.
While waiting, I started to see how God works in our lives. The long wait strengthened us, molded us, deepened our faith, and helped us to become closer and know more of our Lord. By God’s grace, my family and I started to experience joy and hope and learned to submit everything to Him even if it hurts (like experiences of injustice), and we felt His love amid the adversity. We have the promise of God for a blessing upon those who will be faithful. We should remain trusting whatever the delays may be. God is always with us and working behind the scenes. I am always reminded of His Love and faithfulness, and how God used the situation to prepare me and my family for His return. We only need to be patient, obey what God is telling us to do that will glorify Him, and put our trust and faith in Him.
