“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” – 2 Corinthians 5:17 (ESV)
Butterflies are indeed one of the most colorful and interesting creatures. However, this insect was once unattractive and unpleasant, ‘til it underwent a metamorphosis. The onset of change happens when metamorphosis commences. The caterpillar twists itself in natural fiber and the transformation starts. The odd caterpillar will soon turn into a stunning butterfly. Aside from being pleasant, it helps to cross-fertilize flowers.
Before we were converted as Christians, we could associate ourselves with a caterpillar. We are not pleasing in the eyes of God until we lay our hearts to Him. He transformed us into new creations. He has worked in our lives so we can be productive individuals for Him. We share the gospel and be a blessing to everyone we are in contact with.
Butterflies are said to be fragile creatures and need others to survive. It is essential for us Christians to have partners to grow in faith. We need someone to encourage us to continue faithfully serving in our God-given ministries in times of trouble. After all, we are butterflies, painting colors and making this earth lovelier than ever.
