Pag-asa na Tunay

“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly” – John 10:10

It has been more than a year, traveling between work and home just to be with my family once a week, on Fridays. I was becoming weary of our situation, because I was missing out on my son’s milestones in life. As problems with work and job security arise, I gave more thought about our financial responsibilities. At times I can’t but feel helpless about our future. Yet despite all the grave problems we face, I remain hopeful as I remember Jesus tell us, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly” (John 10:10). He promises, “I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world” (John 16:33). He also says, “These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full” (John 15:11).

As I turn to Jesus, I see a life with Him that looks: abundant, peaceful, and joyful to the fullest measure. It gives me hope that all these things will pass, but God’s love will never fade. I sometimes feel tired, heavily laden and suffering, so I cast my burden to Him who bore our sins – to Jesus Christ, our Great Burden Bearer.

Father in heaven, we thank you for allowing us to be in your loving care. You have taken hold of us in our trials. We can put our trust and eternal hope in You. Please continue to guide us and give us the comfort we need when we feel weary. In Jesus mighty name we pray, Amen.
