Our Mission

“However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.” – Acts 20:24 (NIV)

As a retiree, I come to the point that being confined at home in this time of pandemic and doing the daily routine makes me feel bored, empty, and useless. One night, as I lay down to sleep, I was talking to God asking Him to help me remove the said feelings for I know I am badly offending Him. I remember Christian friends who are now with Him. I remember that when they died, I heard from others that maybe God’s purpose for them was finished so that’s why God already took them home. Then why do I feel this way since I know for myself that I have not done so much for Him? My talk to God that night ended up with my plea to Him to help me feel alive and worthy and, as usual, to give me again more strength to face another day. Aside from our past successive BS lessons, the Church’s theme for this month, “Made for Mission,” is another wake-up call for me. Listening to God’s word through several preachers during the past weeks reminded me that when we received Jesus as our Lord and Saviour, another call for obedience follows and this is for us to do His mission; the mission to spread His salvation, His love, and care for the lost. Praise God for using His faithful children to remind us that doing His mission should be our everyday goal to keep us alive and remember that we are still around for a purpose, not for our gain but for His glory as we share His word to those people who need Jesus.
