Our Living Hope

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who[a] have been called according to his purpose.” – Romans 8:28

As I reflect on this verse, I am reminded of the time when the pandemic began. In a snap, our lives changed drastically. The normal lifestyle that we enjoyed suddenly changed to lockdowns, wearing facemasks, social distancing, and doing virtual meetings. Many of us experienced loss– loss of a loved one, loss of employment, and businesses. A lot of plans had to be rescheduled, including trips to your homeland. Even a wedding planned in the Philippines turned into a wedding in the Philippine Embassy witnessed by a few present in the actual ceremony while others watched online. Despite all these however, I look back and smile and remain grateful to God. The verse reminds me that God is in control of everything. He is continuously working in our lives, even though we may not see or feel it. It gives me hope and confidence to anticipate His perfect timing and know that everything will be fine. So, in pandemic, post-pandemic, and all seasons of life, let us continue to live our lives anchored in our living hope for His glory.
