Immersing Our Thoughts

“Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.” – Proverbs 1:8 NIV

There are a variety of books we can choose from to read repeatedly. It could be romance, adventure, thriller, or a fiction novel. These books are published in a short period yet are supported and adored by readers.

I find it often easy to remember the plot and setting of the books that interest me even though I just read it once. I am partly guilty of enjoying and being enthralled in books with shallow meaning. Most of the time, I immerse my thoughts in what I read, and worst of all, emulate them, which entails uncertain outcomes. While I seldom read the Bible repeatedly.

God instructed people to keep His laws through speaking, thinking, and doing. This means every inch of our being must be involved in possessing it. In this manner, we will be cautious in doing everything stated to obey God’s commands.

As I intently abide by His laws, there will be hindrances that will come my way, but my hope is in God’s presence throughout my spiritual journey. Although I find it a challenge to spend time reading God’s word and am still in the process of resolving it, I do have faith that God will guide me to desire His words. He said in His words, “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart lean not unto thine own understanding acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6 KJV

Prayer:

Lord God, every day You showered me with grace and bountiful blessings, I am grateful to You. Teach me how to desire Your words joyfully, to embody your laws and commandments in my daily life. May Your Holy Spirit transcend upon me now and forever. All for the glory in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen!
