Hope

“Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” – Isaiah 31-40:28 NIV

As I turn on the television or YouTube, it is overwhelming to watch the current desperate and dreadful situation of the world. For instance, the Covid-19 seemingly mutates non-stop to another variant, the poor are becoming poorer, killings or shootings seem familiar, and many are being abused, exploited, neglected, etc. As I see or hear this awful news, I feel disheartened, burdened and fear crept in. In addition, my battle within appears unending. It weighed me down and caused me to be exhausted and hopeless.

As I dived into the book of Isaiah 40:28-31, I was encouraged, and it reminded me once again that He is my source of strength and power. He is my ultimate source of hope and deliverance. Verse 31 says, “The Lord will renew my strength, I will soar on wings like eagles; I will run and not grow weary and walk and not be faint.” What a tremendous and powerful promise that God has given to us. We could walk confidently and claim and declare these incredible promises to ourselves, and we can boldly face the enemy and remind him who our God is, and so are we.

Father God in heaven, thank you for your incredible love. Help us always to remember that You Oh God, our everlasting God, never go tired nor weary. You are the creator of the heavens and the earth and our source of hope and strength. Amen
