“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for Me wholeheartedly, you will find Me.” Jeremiah 13-29:11 NLT
This verse is part of the letter of the prophet Jeremiah to the Israelites exiled in Babylon, encouraging them that despite their difficult situation, God has good plans for them and that God will listen and answer if they call on Him. We may not be in exactly the same situation as the exiled Israelites but somehow being in a foreign country, we encounter difficulties and perhaps unfairness in how we are treated compared to the local people, for example in terms of workload and benefits. But let us not be
disheartened because God is with us. Let us call on Him and He will answer our prayers, as we have experienced in the past.
Furthermore, as stated in verse 7, let us pray for the peace and prosperity of the country we are in because if it prospers, we too will prosper. This is a good reminder for me to continue to pray for peace and prosperity for Oman which has thousands of OFWs many of whom are used by God for His divine purpose for this nation. May God continue to bless us to be a blessing to others.
