“and in the wilderness. There you saw how the Lord your God carried you, as a father carries his son, all the way you went until you reached this place.” – Deuteronomy 1:31 (NIV)
One of the allegorical poems that hit me deep is the “Footprints in the Sand”. Many times, I think that God has forsaken me whenever I face troubles and when I am at the lowest point of my life. At the back of my mind, I always question God’s ways. Why would a loving God let his people suffer? These thoughts unknowingly lead me to a quicksand of disbelief. The more I struggle, the more I sink. But God is good, no matter how far I go, no matter how many times I turned my back on Him, He followed and rescued me. This made me realize how loving and merciful our God is. He never left me alone in all those trying times. He carried me like a lost sheep and brought me where I stand now. Slowly but surely, I am growing in spiritual fruits and finishing strong with His amazing grace.
Thank you, dear God, for your love that never fades. You remain faithful to Your people. You give us grace though we don’t deserve it. You give us mercy though we deserve to be punished. Amen.
