But He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness. Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. – 2 Corinthians 12:9
I remember the time when I was still an unbeliever. I would exert every effort to please the people around me, especially my parents. Not only that, but I would try so hard to cover up all my weaknesses, so they won’t get disappointed in me. Until the time came when every weakness was uncovered. It was heartbreaking seeing the sadness in my parents’ faces knowing I had failed them. The child they thought was doing good in school has failing grades in two major subjects.
At that time, I thought I will not be able to finish the course and will not become a nurse someday. But praise God, the Lord led me to meet Christian friends who not only intentionally guided me to pass my failed major subjects but also led me to know the Lord Jesus Christ.
Although I spent five years completing my course, I felt so blessed to experience God’s goodness and grace in times I needed Him the most. He revealed Himself to me in many ways through the years: When I was sick, He brought healing. When I was in pain, He comforted me. When I felt unloved, He gave me His unconditional love. When I was in danger, He protected me. During the time of inadequacies, He provided. In every question, He gave answers. In every circumstance, He provided opportunities for victories. And goes a long list. Indeed, God is faithful!
Heavenly Father, thank You that Your grace is sufficient for all our needs. Through the years, You were there for us in all difficulties, trials, sickness, and dangers. You have helped us overcome those. Help us to boast all the more gladly in our inadequacies, so that Your great ability may manifest in our life. In Jesus Name. Amen.
