“Cast your cares on the Lord and He will sustain you, he will never let the righteous be shaken.” (Psalm 55:22)
The words “calm” or “be still” nowadays are a bit challenging to adhere to, especially when the outbreak of the pandemic started to rattle our world. Every day we have been fighting so many kinds of battles, most especially as we deal with our daily encounters in the outside world. Last year when we experienced how the world stopped, where everyone was not allowed to leave their homes, instead of enjoying the peace between the four walls of our apartment I kept wondering what will happen next. I also thought about the effect of what the pandemic will bring to every country who opted to stop for a few months.
And yes, my most unanticipated event happened in the beginning of this year as most of the businesses closed and declared bankruptcy. It is really by God’s grace alone that my family and I have been sustained by God. Worries crept last year but God never failed in His promise. As I cast my cares to the Lord, due to His faithfulness and loving-kindness He sustained us since then and never allowed us to be shaken. To God be the glory for all the blessings and sustenance that He has bestowed in our family.
