“Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.” 1 Peter 5:7 (NIV)
What is it that makes me anxious? What fears I am withholding from God? These are the questions that pop up in my mind when I read this verse. I humbly asked God to search and reveal my fears. Then silence came. I was pinned to the core where God showed me that what I feared the most revealed where I trusted God the least – my walk and journey with Him, my son’s future, uncertainties of what’s happening today, national issues, sickness, loss of loved ones.
As God revealed my fears, He also built my faith. Trusting Him alone is what gives me the courage and strength to keep going and moving forward. I need Him, His presence, His power, His Spirit leading, and His Word that gives me strength. Knowing that God loves me and cares for me, gives me peace and calms my soul. What I fear the most shows where I need to grow with God.
Prayer of Gratitude: Thank You, Lord, as You continually deal with us on our anxious thoughts. Thank You for You alone is faithful and trustworthy. Thank You for dealing with these fears as we trust in You and Your sovereignty. Help us to always trust You even when things and circumstances are dim, hazy, and terrifying. In Jesus’ Name, we pray. Amen.
