“You are my hiding place; You will protect me from trouble and surround me with song of deliverance.” – Psalm 32:7
There is a popular worship song that we might remember entitled, “You Are My Hiding Place.” One part of the song strikes me that makes me cry every time I will play this song and it goes like this: “You are my Hiding place. You always fill my heart with songs of deliverance. Wherever I am afraid I will trust in You.”
We cannot know God as our “Hiding Place” unless we come to a place of dependency, weakness, and humility. When we realize our need for God’s protection and covering, we recognize that He is our only hiding place. We can abide under the shadow of His wings, under the shelter of His protection. When we walk in this reality, we feel safe and secure.
There have been times in my life when I felt so tired spiritually that I’d go out into nature and just lie down on the ground and ask God to search my heart and for Him to be my hiding and safe place.
Maybe you can relate to this. So, I want to encourage you today, to make time in your life to simply sit with the Lord in nature or in a quiet place where you can relax and feel the presence of God and listen to His voice through His Word or worship songs. Jesus satisfied the longing of our souls. Seek Jesus, He is inside your heart. He is there waiting for you with wide open arms. Our God, the Father, is truly and will be our HIDING PLACE.
