“Everything has already been decided. It was known long ago what each person would be, so there’s no use arguing with God about your destiny.” – Ecclesiastes 6:10 NLT
When I read this verse, it reflects the journey of my life. God reminds me that He is the author of our life. Everything that happened, He is in control, His will is done, and He has a purpose for it. We may not understand it, but we need to continue to trust Him.
My life was quite tough. My experiences and journey were not easy but full of great memories. I lost my mother at the age of 18, became a professional at 21, got a job at 22, got married at 28, was widowed at 42, and lost my father a few months back. But despite all the struggles and pains I experienced, God helped me to hold on.
As the eldest daughter and a single parent, I became stronger with the guidance of our God. I asked God, but did not argue with Him, why all these things happened to me. God taught me to continue to trust Him. With the help of my church in the Philippines (FMC) and my church here in Oman (OECC), God strengthened my faith. Of all the trials that I went through, I praise God that He allowed me to deepen my faith and fully depend on Him. He gave me a heart that is full of love and affection from my children, family, relatives, friends, colleagues, brethren, and the people who surround me. Gusto ko sana mag-drama ng matagal pero God gave me deep joy and peace. This is the work of the Holy Spirit within me, that’s why I chose to be happy, move on, and look forward to what God has intended me to do.
Sometimes we fail as humans but there is always a chance and hope for tomorrow because we have a God that is full of mercy and love. He is in control of everything. Sa ngayon at sa future, I will let God lead me. All I need to do is to continue to believe and follow His will. We have plans and desires, but God’s will will still prevail because He knows what’s best for us and He knew our destiny.
Panginoon, una sa lahat, salamat sa mga pangyayari sa aming mga buhay. Patuloy Niyo po kaming gabayan sa bawat araw kasama ang aming buong pamilya. Turuan Niyo po kami na patuloy kaming magtiwala sa Inyo at ipagkaloob ang lahat-lahat kahit ano man ang mangyari dahil Ikaw lang ang nakakaalam kung ano ang makakabuti sa amin. Amen.
