“Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men” – Colossians 3:23
Whenever I think of what things I’m good at, I am always amazed by the talents God has gifted me. The problem is that I’m hesitant to use them because it requires commitment and effort. It will consume my “free” time and exhausts all my strength. I remember when my aunt told me, “If you do not offer those talents, the One who gave them to you without a second thought will take them away from you.”
The Lord requires us to use our God-given gifts and talents in the best way we can. Maybe we think that we can have only one talent, but we will discover more talents as we serve by utilizing them. God knows our abilities, gifts, capabilities, and our limitations. These were given to be cultivated and offered back to Him. Let us open our eyes to discover them. Open our ears to listen to what would God wanted to impress on us. Open our hearts, invite possible ministries, and open our arms wide to embrace those responsibilities. Indeed, God is pleased when we commit ourselves to His work here on earth.
Prayer:
Thank you, Father, that You endowed us with gifts and talents. May we use them for your glory and make them a pleasing sacrifice before your Holy throne. Make us faithful servants, ever ready to take on every challenge and do what You commanded us with joy and thanksgiving in our hearts. Amen.
