Tell Archippus: “See that you fulfill the ministry you have received in the Lord.” (Colossians 4:17)
Paul specifically wrote this to Archippus, but I consider this is meant for us believers too.
When we received Jesus Christ as our personal Lord and Savior, we acknowledged Him as our Master. Therefore, we obey His commands. One of these is being part of His church ministries. Whether we are involved in the music ministry, the missions ministry or the prayer ministry, remember that we are there to please God, and not people. Being a servant of God doesn’t mean that everything will be nice and smooth, in fact, there will be distractions and temptations that come along our way. Yes, it’s not easy. But let us focus on Jesus, so we can run with endurance and finish the race set before us. It is only by His power and grace that we can complete the work that we have received from Him. Let us be diligent and not lazy, let us be careful and not unconcerned, and let us be intentional and not impulsive. In everything we do, may we always do our best, for the glory of God alone.
