“Though the righteous fall seven times, they rise again.” – Proverbs 24:16 NIV
There is this story of a young man sitting on a bench watching a squirrel on a tree who was aiming to jump to a branch so high. Suddenly it jumped, missed and fell upon branches lower than where it started. Then an old man approached the person on the bench and said to him “I have seen hundreds of them jump like that, but I have never seen one get hurt from trying.” Then he added, “I guess it is better to take a risk rather than spend your life where you do not want to be”
This has given me the idea that God will always catch us if we fall. We may have a lot of shortcomings in our life but failure isn’t such a bad thing. A great example is from the story where Peter sinks while trying to walk on water and denies His Lord yet he becomes the head of the New Testament church. If there are certain hurdles where it may be in school or at work, we should always remember that failing does not make you a failure – quitting does. Get up and try again, this time with God’s help and you will make it!
