“We must go through much tribulation to enter the kingdom of God.” – Acts 14:22
I believe God’s people have trials in life. As a Christian believer, I, for one, am not exempted. When God chose us, God never intended that we would be untried people. God never promised that we would be free of sickness, pain and even death. So, why did a good and loving God allow us to experience trials when He chose and loved us?
When I was in that situation, I couldn’t imagine myself asking God why I should go through my life’s waterloo, fear, and worry. Then, I came back to my senses, remembering that our God is sovereign. Indeed, everything under heaven has a purpose. At that moment, I asked God to strengthen my faith and comfort me through His Word. Romans 8: 28 says, “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, who are the called according to His purpose.”
Trials were given to draw us closer to God. It teaches us to develop a godly character, be more faithful, and persevering. Let us be reminded of what Jesus said, “In me, you have peace; in this world, you have tribulations but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”
