A text message is essentially used to communicate with people, share your story, ask someone you love if they are okay, or even give an update to your boss.
One day, when I was previously working with my boss in the Philippines, my boss asked me for an update on one of the projects I was handling because he needed it urgently for a meeting. I immediately took my cellphone and texted him the status of the project. When I am done giving him the details, the funny thing is, at the end of my text I didn’t notice that I texted him “I love you,” and pressed send. I can’t change the message as it is already sent.
I sent “I love you” to him because that is my daily routine – saying “I love you” to my wife. It is funny, but it is true.
In 1 John 5:3, loving God means keeping His commandments, and His commandments are not burdensome. I often say ‘’I love you, Lord,’’ thanking Him for all the good things He has done. But I didn’t notice that it became only a routine most of the time. God reminded me that saying “I love you” is not just words. Instead, it is complete submission to the Lord. Whatever we do and say, we must do it for His glory. I know it is not easy. We can’t do it on our own. We need Him to help us. If we truly love God, we obey. If we obey, the love of God will manifest in us. Saying “I love you” ay hindi dapat nanggagaling sa nguso kungdi sa puso.
