“In panic, I cried out, I am cut off from the LORD but You heard my cry for mercy and answered my call for help.” – Psalm 31:22
Whenever we face troubles, struggles, and trials, we panic. Sometimes we forgot to call and come first to God. We try to solve it on our own. Then later we realized that we have a God who helps and rescues us.
Recently, my family faced a problem with our business in our place, which led us to complain to the police station, barangay hall, and the DILG. One of the barangay kagawads accused and harassed my cousin, our storekeeper. It was a coincidence that the barangay captain, secretary, and others are our relatives. Ang hirap pala ng ganito! The barangay captain told us frankly na i-settle na lang kasi nahirapan siya dahil both sides are his relatives. In short, napunta kami sa DILG dahil walang nangyari sa barangay hall. Hindi nagkasundo. Medyo mahirap kasi both sides mayroong nangyari na hindi maganda publicly, physically, at verbally. Pagpunta namin sa DILG, may mga kamag-anak din kami doon who advised us din na to settle na lang.
Finally, I prayed to God kung ano dapat gawin. Praise God, as an eldest in the family and co-owner ng business namin, nakinig sila sa akin na we have to settle para di magkagulo at magkaroon ng peace ang bawat panig. Praise God sa guidance Niya! I remembered in James 4:10, “Humble yourselves before the LORD and He will lift You in honor.” Salamat sa Panginoon that we have Him because we choose peace with others rather than retaliate and fight.
This is our first time encountering such problems in the family. The whole barangay and neighbors talked about what had happened that day. But I praise God despite everything! I realized more that as much as possible we have to have good relationships with our relatives, friends, neighbors, and others. In short, we have to be friendly because we don’t know when we will ask help from them.
Salamat sa Panginoon sa mga pagsubok malaki man or maliit dahil ito ang kadahilanan na mag-grow tayo sa buhay at mas lalo tayong kakapit sa Kanya. All praises to Him!
LORD, help and teach us to call upon Your Name whenever we face problems or struggles. And that You should always be our priority before we make our own actions and decisions. Be with us and guide us in everything we do. Amen.
