“Be still, and know that I am God;” – Psalms 46:10
Sit back, relax, do not be anxious, pray and put your trust in God alone. I got this! This is what God is trying to say in this verse. The Lord knows everything about us, even our innermost thoughts. He knows what is in our hearts and reads what is in our minds. He is watching over us, He settles all things according to His will and purpose in our lives. God wanted us to find our refuge in His Mighty Name, to trust in what He can do, to recognize who is before us. He is the omniscient, omnipotent, and omnipresent God. He is eternally loving, caring and compassionate to His children. His loving kindness never fails. His mercies are new every morning, and His grace is sufficient for us.
I woke up one day hearing the exhortation on this verse, its message struck my heart, and I began to burst into tears. Hearing every line as the song “Still” played, my heart pondered on the greatness of God in my life. The God that gives life, hope and fills all our emptiness. He is our all in all.
Looking back on these past two years, life has been challenging. The heavy workload, the stress of wearing restrictive PPEs, the lockdowns and travel limitations, the threat of cutting salaries, news about rising sicknesses and death tolls, and my own family’s exposure to the virus. Furthermore, I got infected by the Covid virus through work exposure. Being sick with the virus without my family beside me was the scariest moment of my life. All these brought me to the test of faith.
But I thank God who is always there for me, tapping my shoulder, embracing me with His comforting words, assuring me of His love. “Be still. I am here. I am in control of everything,” are the words I’ve been hearing from Him during these seasons in my life up to now.
Praise God! His promises assure us. His words are true. Amen!
He is the God we can run to when heavily laden with burdens in life. He is just waiting for us.
Prayer:
Thank you Lord for Your words are true. You commanded us to be still and know that You are our God. Help us to trust You because you are in control of everything. Please help us to put our hope in You alone. Help us to be more prayerful and seek you even more. In Jesus’ Name, I pray, Amen!
