Armor of God

“Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.” – Ephesians 6:11 NIV

When I read this verse, what first came to my mind is, “Yes, God has fully armored me,” as He gave us the belt of truth, breastplate of righteousness, shoes of the gospel of peace, shield of faith, helmet of salvation, and the sword of the spirit and prayerful heart. But are all of these functioning? Are these strong enough to shield or protect me?

When we accepted Jesus as our Lord and Savior, it did not stop there. We need to build a strong relationship with Him through reading the Bible daily, communicating with Him through prayer, attending worship services, having fellowship with others, and witnessing to others by sharing God’s goodness in our lives.

With all of these, as our partners in growing with our walk with God, these things can make our armor invincible against our enemies. We must always put God at the center of our lives. No schemes of the devil can penetrate God’s armor as we are taking care of it and making sure that it is strong and functioning.
