“So then, let us aim for harmony in the church and try to build each other up.” – Romans 14:19 NLT.
With the coming May 9 national and local election, believers and non-believers support different political groups, “colors” or merely their personal preferences.
Personally for me, this is completely fine as long as our differences will not lead to division, especially in our relationships. Churches ought to be mature, coherent, and less fractious in dealing with such differences. Our posts, insights, and conversations must reflect the foundation of our faith. We all come from different backgrounds, churches, and institutions but we are spiritually united, put together not by accident but to encourage and build each other up in a way that will bring glory and honor to our God. We often say that sometimes we are the only Bible that people read, and that’s true! So, let us all remain intact in the most influential, harmonious, and divine way – a way that will encourage others to have a personal and nurturing relationship with God.
Prayer: Father God, I pray for discernment for all the voters and a clean, safe and peaceful election. We pray that the right people will be placed in the position, no personal agenda, no unpropitious practices, only pure and clear intentions of building people and uplifting and honoring God.
