THANK YOU, GOD for OECC!
OECC is an oasis of trust for a person like me who wishes to be private in matters of life and its ongoings and humdrums and preferring to live through it all without being judged by the metrics of the world. Each member of this church is careful to align with the examples of Christ in their relationship with each other. It matters that as we follow Jesus, we have to do as He did, no matter how difficult it can be at times. This I saw in OECC, a church where you can be who you are but for the better; where you see yourself and the others trying to mirror Christ so that His grace and goodness may be known and sought by those who seek. The relationship in the church is one you can feel Jesus walking around. It's no surprise therefore that everyone looks forward to meeting each other at the church or at any fellowship or ministry function. The first article I wrote for the Encourager way back 2013 I titled “ OECC: my spiritual oasis in Oman”. It still is. Thank you, OECC. Praise God for the 34 years of Jesus being alive in a church!
Thru OECC: 1. I was able to join EV2, one of the many ways to share the Gospel
2. I have been serving thru an outreach program where we have a personal encounter with our kababayans (OWWA)
3. I serve the Lord through the Children’s Ministry
4. I found a Home, a Family
1. I am thankful to learn more about Jesus through OECC.
2. I am deep in thanksgiving to God that I have spiritual family.
3. I am grateful that I have more people to share my ups and downs in life.
4. I remain grateful to God through OECC for the wisdom in sharing the gospel.
5. I am greatly thankful to God that I realize my purpose and value by serving Him through our church.
There are so many things to thank God for because of OECC.
Firstly, He chose this church for me when I prayed for a church here in Oman.
Secondly, OECC focuses in spiritual equipping--which is for me what I need the most. The more we know God, the better our understanding on things of different perspective.
Thirdly, we found a family in OECC-- our brethren become the people that we can lean on in times of need. Kaya naman it’s really sad when someone leaves to settle in the Philippines or in another country.
Last but not least, OECC wants the church and its members to be involved--encourages each one to be in every ministry as it is possible. OECC is a church that always finds a reason to be in a mission. The church directs us to the path of our purpose. Why I’m saying this kasi minsan being a Christian, malabo sa atin ano ba talaga ang purpose of being a Christian but thankfully God made it clear thru this church.
When I joined OECC way back 2011, God started to move in my life as a Christian in so many ways:
2011- I started in OECC as a regular attendee, attending Friday School and worship service.2012- God had started using my life in Music Ministry, as a backup singer. Also in the same year, God has used my life along with other brethren in sharing the gospel and leading colleagues to a relationship with Christ.
2013 - God spoke in my heart to join in "Share Your Faith" Workshop, a big leap on my Christian journey which helped me gain confidence in sharing the gospel to others using my 5 fingers.
2015 - God offered another opportunity to serve Him as the leader/coordinator of the Women's ministry for 3 years. It was a very huge responsibility yet God enabled me to do the task by His grace and thru the support of other women leaders in the church.
Another time (cannot remember the year), I was asked if I can start to become a worship leader. Again, after praying to the Lord for His will, He gave me the answer to accept the task with His promise that He will be with me on this new journey.
God is also using my life as His mouthpiece during DBS being one of the facilitators and also a member of Missions Ministry. I am currently serving in Ushering Ministry being the Head Usher appointed in December 2020. How good and faithful our God that despite my busy schedule as a nurse with shifting work, He still manages to remind me to put Him first in my life thru ministry work.
Thank you OECC for molding my character in so many ways, thank you for all the encouragements. Now and ever, I will always be a humble servant of God. Thank you for always for the sweet fellowship with one another.
Thank you as well for being a family during the time I got infected with Covid 19 in June 2021, away from my real family in the Philippines. Thank you for the prayers, financial and emotional support of all the brethren.
I am blessed that I am a member of OECC, keeping my commitment from the very start of my life here in Oman. I have said to the Lord, "Kung saan mo ako ginagamit Lord sa paglilingkod sa Iyo, doon lang ako mananatili."
To God be the glory!
I am grateful to the Lord for using OECC to help me grow in my faith and walk with our Savior and Lord Jesus Christ. Through different studies like our DBS, Gospel project, EV2 and many other activities from OECC I have learned so many things. OECC became my second family in Muscat, Oman. Through our small group I've learned to get along and feel that I belong. I felt loved and accepted as I am. Additionally, through OECC I have been given wonderful privilege to serve through the Music Ministry which I have never thought I would be a part of. I am forever grateful to God for using OECC and its ministries to equip people for Jesus.
