Bakit nga ba ako nagjoin sa ev2 (mahiyain pa naman ako di lang halata!)? Looking back, when we had our vacation in 2019 in the Philippines, my uncle Mek (older brother of my father and the one who took care of us when we were young) got sick. His condition worsened day by day and there was nothing we could do to help him get better. I know for a fact that he was a person who was very afraid to die. When one of my aunts came to our house and offered to pray for him, he started crying and shouting, “Ayoko pang mamatay!” Hearing those words brought a sudden pain to my heart, knowing that he did not know the gift of salvation.

The conviction of the Holy Spirit to share the gospel to my uncle was very strong during that time, but how to start sharing this was a great struggle for me. Fast forward, ang pangyayaring iyon ang nagbigay sa akin ng reason to join the ev2 training. I prayed to God that I want to be fully equipped and He definitely answered my prayer. Pero hindi pala ganoon kadali iyon, dahil during my training, I had mixed emotions. One of the greatest challenges that I faced was when I learned that I had to share to 10 people to be able to graduate tapos may bonus pang oral exam! Naisip ko sa isang tao nga hirap na hirap na ako, sa sampu pa kaya?

But then, as I went along with my training, little by little God opened up my heart at unti unti kong naramdaman ang joy sa ginagawa ko especially when I started with my on-the-job training (OJT). Nawala yung feeling na parang napipilitan lang ako kasi baka hindi ako maka-graduate dahil hindi naman talaga yun ang purpose ni God. He tells us that when we take the step of faith to share His word with others, He is with us always. Sharing the word is important not only because we are called to do so, but it also gives us a better understanding of Christ.

That is why, I really praise and thank the Lord sa opportunity na ipinagkaloob niya sa akin, to be equipped sa tulong ng training na ito. And if the time comes that I will be in the same situation again, like what happened with my uncle, I know now that I have the confidence and courage to be bold in sharing the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ. My inadequacy draws me closer to Him and makes me trust Him even more. It helps me grow and recognize all that He has done and is doing to my life.

TO GOD BE THE GLORY!
