The church has been organizing a prayer caravan for more than a decade. The pandemic did not hinder us from doing it as we have it virtually. The members gathered early in the evening on  March 27, 2024, at The Center, in Al Ansab. Brother Louie officially kicked off the program at 6:45 PM with an opening prayer. This year’s Prayer Caravan was a deep dive into numerous prayer needs covering the church’s interests and broader community engagements. The congregation were united in seeking wisdom for the church leaders, harmony among members, and guidance for the church’s diverse activities. Special attention was given to the upcoming 36th Church Anniversary and the desire to share the Gospel more effectively.

The focus broadened to include the Philippine School Oman’s Board of Trustees, teachers, staff, and students. This highlighted the school’s crucial role in the community and the plans for a new building. The caravan also encompassed prayers for the Philippine Embassy and the Migrant Workers Office, advocating for righteousness in governance and peace within the community.

This year, we included the Ministry of Health, praying for the healthcare sector and its workers for protection and wisdom. Upon arriving at the iconic Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, we prayed that the Muslims in Oman and worldwide would encounter Jesus. The congregation prayed for global peace and missionaries while passing through the Muscat International Airport. We also prayed for leadership wisdom, labor justice, and divine protection for the Oman government, especially for Sultan Haitham. Another significant location we added to our prayer is Oman’s Defense Forces.

After the caravan, the congregation gathered again at Al Sahwa Park, where Brother Mong led a devotional on being “Broken Made Whole In Christ Jesus,” drawing from Ephesians 2:4-10. He reminded everyone that despite our inherent brokenness due to original sin, faith in Jesus Christ offers restoration and wholeness. This message underscored the Gospel’s transformative power, not just for personal redemption, but as a mandate for action in the world; likening believers to farmers, athletes, and soldiers who actively live out their faith.

Brother Toto led the final prayer, followed by announcements and a communal meal, with Brother Ray offering a blessing for the food. The event concluded at 9:00 PM, leaving participants spiritually refreshed and more deeply connected. The Prayer Caravan of 2024 was a profound testament to the power of collective prayer and the community’s commitment to living out their faith in action, always giving glory to God.
