L.O.V.E. Fellowship

Despite our current situation, the Marriage Ministry did not stop in creating events and reaching out to other couples, within and outside the Church, to make Christ known to them through this Ministry.

Before the first scheduled event, the core group met several times to discuss the program and who will be the guest speaker/s. Also, one of the plans is to establish a new name for the group that will uniquely convey the ministry’s mission — a name that members and guests can easily remember.

Finally, the core group came up with the name L.O.V.E., “Living Our Vows Everyday,” with the supporting verse from 1 Corinthians 13:13. The mission of L.O.V.E is “to have a Christ-centered marriage that brings glory to God, through the way that we love and the way that we live.”

The first winning event held on February 13, 2021, was a success. Thirty couples, including five invited couples, attended this via Zoom. The theme of the event was “Living Our Vows Everyday,” taken from the new ministry name L.O.V.E.

We hosted this event, and the guest speakers were the power couple, Ptr. Randolph and Sis. Jot Velasquez. The program began with an ice breaker, taking us down memory lane where we said “I do” to each other. They also shared with us the “Foundational Values of Marriage,” taken from Genesis 2:23-25. It was indeed an awakening topic as we learned about the oneness, faithfulness, and intimacy in a marriage that we must have to value. They also gave us some advice on how to keep track of our marriages and to pray for the other couples.

Moreover, during the “Living Our Verse Everyday” portion, the Layon couple led the couples to read their marriage verses to each other, which will help to guide their everyday married life, their thoughts, their hearts, and their actions. After this, the Brimon couple led all the couples to an intimate dance with the song “Ikaw at Ako.”

Before the event comes to an end, Bro. John Hipe conducted a short game where we must guess the wedding date of the wedding pictures he flashed on the screen. Bro. Erwin Lopez won the game. After the game, we had our picture taking and Bro. Jessie Perdido closed the event with a prayer.

  1. I am blessed to see couples growing “twogether” in Christ. The pandemic has wrought havoc to the marital lives of many couples around the world, as statistics show. We praise God for you brothers and sisters who keep your marriage strong and blissful with God as the source and end-all. Nothing can go wrong in a union that seeks to put God first in a relationship. We take, thus, this opportunity to pray for all married couples in the world to remember their vows–lovingly and soulfully written– to re-live and execute them as they go through these relationship-challenging times. In Jesus’ name of enduring love, we pray. Amen!
