In Every New Beginnings

This 2021 opens with a huge challenge of creating a new name for the ministry, from OECC Singles Ministry to OECC God First Ministry. This aims to develop and encourage singles to grow in faith, to be spiritually equipped, and to be fully sober in the service for the Lord and its church. We are so excited to see how God will transform and reveal to us His beautiful plans for this ministry with new challenges and new opportunities, all for His glory and honor.  

Our first building fellowship via zoom, entitled “In Every New Beginning,” happened on February 6, 2021. The passage from Matthew 6:33, “But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness and all these things will be given to you as well.” is quite appropriate as it reflects the new name of the ministry. 

Bro. Louie Layon, one of OECC’s elders, delivered God’s message during this fellowship. As Christians, we understand that partners, careers, and desires cannot replace our relationship with God. We must seek God first in every aspect of our lives to become whole in our relationship. Then, God will meet and fulfill our needs, wants, and even our plans according to His will. Indeed, it was an inspiring and fruitful message. 

In addition, we welcomed new members. Currently, we have 13 active members.  I’m certain that God will lead us to more members through winning fellowships and other church activities, which will be happening this year and in the years to come.  However, some members opted to be part of another ministry where they can be used mightily. We believe that whatever ministry we are part of, we are still in one body of Christ, fellowshipping and glorifying God’s greatness and faithfulness.  

Furthermore, new core leaders were introduced during the building fellowship, namely Bro. Mark Ildefonso (head assistant and secretary), Sis. Elisse Dalma (treasurer and head of the food committee), Sis. Lady Regala (head of logistics and physical arrangement), and Sis. Thea Alvarez (head of the prayer committee and assigned to see and visit members who need encouragement, comfort, and even assistance, especially during this pandemic). 

Being the head of the G1 (God First) Ministry, I oversee all the programs and work hand in hand with all the members and ate Cathy Layon, our mentor and Membership Deacon. 
Truly, it will be a spirit-filled and enjoyable journey as we all embark and embrace our mission to spread God’s Word and infinite love to others and one another. We are encouraged and eager to share our God-given talents and wisdom knowing that God is always with us. We will be victorious in all our activities. We claim it! In Jesus’ name, AMEN.
