“Paubaya,” a familiar song popularized by Moira dela Torre, is quite relatable to many single brothers and sisters. This song tells us to let go of the person or thing that is not beneficial or not worth living for. That’s why we decided to have that song title be our first winning theme for this year 2021 – “Paubaya: Letting go and Letting God.”
As Christian singles, we understand that partners and career desires cannot replace our relationship with God. God’s love is incomparable. He is constant. His love is infinite! That is what we all need. Dependence on God is the key. Let God handle everything – all our desires, careers, plans. As Proverbs 16:3 says, “Commit to the Lord whatever you do and He will establish your plans.”
The virtual fellowship was held on March 13, 2021, with our guest speaker Ms. Julianne Tarroja Rohrer, a critically acclaimed award-winning singer-songwriter. Ms. Julianne or Julie has been sharing stories through songs with messages of hope, love, and faith since 2017. She is pegged as one of the most influential and inspirational artists of her generation.
Ms. Julie enumerated the benefits of relying on and letting God take hold of our situations. We must surrender all our worries, doubts, and fears to God. Freedom from burdens and living by faith, knowing that God is in control. It is His responsibility to take care of us. Our needs and wants for ourselves and even for our future mate, career advancement, and plans will be met and fulfilled only through God’s mercy and according to His will and time. It was such an engaging and inspiring topic. Very meaningful indeed!
Ms. Julie was so nice and accommodating. She ended her talk with a song that captivated us with her unique blend of artistry and soothing voice. Everyone who attended the fellowship was enlightened and grateful for the experience, the learnings, and the active sharing of everyone in the breakout rooms.
Likewise, we are so blessed that our deacon Sis. Cathy Layon, with the church elders Bro. Toto Gallardo and Bro. Louie Layon, was present throughout the fellowship.
To God be all the glory and honor!
