“For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever.” -2 Cor 4:17 (NLT)
God uses everything. Even the pandemic we are in right now helps my character to grow. He uses problems to help me mature. I may feel tired, exhausted, and depleted right now because of how Covid-19 affects me and the lives of my loved ones. But I see this time as an opportunity to look to God, place my hope in Him, and trust that He is in control. He is the God of hope. Indeed, the hope that comes from Him will not disappoint me. God can use this pandemic to make me stronger and develop my spiritual muscle. God’s purpose for me on this earth is to prepare me for eternity. This life is preparation for the next.
Today’s problem may seem to be a heavy burden but they will appear nothing in heaven. Hang on to that hope when we feel weary, overwhelmed, or want to give up. God is preparing us for eternity with Him in heaven.
Prayer:
Father God, I trust you for the days ahead and the new year that unfolds before me. I will not fear nor be afraid of the future. Since it is through the eyes of faith that I see the victory that comes from You. In the precious Name of Jesus, I pray. AMEN.
