“Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.” – Hebrews 10:23
The year 2021 is about to end and to some, especially unbelievers would normally make their own new year’s resolution. I have experienced making a long list of resolutions for myself and others. Sadly, I have failed to do not only my resolutions but also my promises to God.
I cannot keep my promises probably because I don’t take seriously to fulfill them. I would, most of the time, prioritize other things in place of reading the Bible, personal devotion, and sharing the Good News with others. I can classify myself as a shallow Christian. I know that as a follower of God I should not neglect to do what God has expected me to do. Through the years, God has proven His faithfulness in my life. God has used and still using my friends, family, church leaders who consistently remind and guide me to fulfill what God has intended me to do.
Praise God for the disciplers, Elders of the church, and small group friends who inspired and helped to bring back that longing to seek God every day in my personal devotion and prayer. It is in His Word we could find His promises and He is so willing to fulfill them if we will keep them in our hearts. God will not fail to accomplish His purposes, which include our eternal life in Christ Jesus.
Our Heavenly Father, thank You, Lord, for Your faithfulness. Through the years, You have proven Your love to me. Forgive me for not reading Your Word and not spending my time with You regularly. Help me, Father, to organize my schedule, devote my first hours with You every day, and commit my every activity with You each day. Lead me into the path of true obedience, to conform to Your ways, to become a committed follower. Help me Lord to hold fast to Your promise of salvation. In Jesus’ Name, I pray. Amen.
