“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is — His good, pleasing and perfect will.” – Romans 12:2 (NIV)
I have been a Christian since I was a little kid. And all those disciplines I have received from my folks, I thought were the norm and standards of life. I lived in such a way that I never thought of seeking more of God as long as I’m doing what is right. I have been following what the world dictates to be okay. I have never realized I was slowly drifting away from God’s will for my life until I graduated college. I felt something was missing, something in me wasn’t whole. Then I prayed to God to pull me back to His presence. When He did, I had seen the difference in the way I was living my life from how God wants me to live my life for Him.
There and then, God transformed everything in my life. He took me out where I was, how I was, and who I was. Everything was renewed as if I started back to the beginning. It was refreshing – my focus, my goal, my enthusiasm – almost everything points to one direction, and it had given me such a drive. Living a life along with the world only gets us lost. But when we ask for God’s guidance, His will will freely control us – how we live, think, and act. Every aspect will be just to glorify Him.
Lord Jesus, we all know, it is not easy as 1-2-3 to be always in line with Your will. For this reason, I pray that in every way and situation, I will ask for Your guidance that I will be able to do things according to Your will. In Your mighty Name, I pray. Amen.
